City Hall on Duane St.

A quick report: So called heirloom tomatoes didn't look or taste like heirlooms; tiny grilled tuna; incredibly overpriced wine list; and the capper: lousy and loud music. Anyone else think this place is easily skipable?

I'll add that the service was horibly slow, and inattentive, the one time I went.

I went there with my extended family including three little kids. Though i didn't think it was over the top I thought they had a great selection and a kids menu which is unusual in that price range. We thought the food was really good--not mindblowing but very satisfying. I loved the chopped salad. Especially if you want to go someplace nice with kids I would give it a thumbs up.

Just ate at City Hall on Monday 5/15/00. Thought it would be an overpriced business-man lunch type place. Although the service was that great, the food was. Had the crab omelette (daily special) that came with a salad and two slices of thick toast. We also had a nice bread basket. They have some outdoor seating which is always nice in the springtime. Now if only the waiter had paid more attention to us....
