Looking for a great place to have brunch for 25-30
people in Manhattan to celebrate a friend's 50th
birthday. Don't want to break the bank, but looking
for more than just 2 eggs over easy. Any ideas?

  1. Hi,
If you check earlier posts of mine I recently had a
wonderful experience with a private party at Moreno
Ristorante at Irving Pl. and 18th St. Michele Fuchs
had originally recommended it. He has a special
private room upstairs. We had a four course meal with
appetizers, drinks, etc and it was really reasonable.
I encourage you to try it.

I don't know; if anyone were taking me for a birthday
brunch, I'd want them to take me to a dim sum breakfast
in Chinatown. In an earlier post, I recommended Sun Hop
Shing tea house at the corner of Mott and Mosco (love
their jasmine tea). Open early, close early.

Thanks a million to Phyllis Rosenblum for suggesting
Moreno - we went with it and it was great. Mr. Moreno
couldn't have been nicer, his staff was superb and the
        price was definitely right!
