East and West 40s

Anyone know good restaurants in the 40s as close to
5th as possible? I've worked in this area for a while
and there are not that many. All price ranges
welcome, quality of food main criterion.

I really like the mediterranean food at Mezze on 44th
between Madison and 5th. There is a nice sit down area
upstairs and good interesting take out.

Last night I had fabulous sushi (really fantastic) at
Sushi Zen on 46th between 5th and 6th (nearer to 6th).
A little more expensive but simply incredible. Have
you tried lobster sushi? Amazing.

There is a fun restaurant in the low forties between
Madison and Fifth called The Tower of Pisa. It's a fun place to dine because of the decor and the food.
Don't have a beer before you walk in because, in reality, the whole place tilts. Excellent pastas and quite interesting specials. Great place to take clients.

I don't know your budget but try Maloney & Porcelli.
Great seafood, steaks and the famous Cracklin Pork
Shank with jalapeno applesauce.
