Chilean Fare

I have heard of a Chilean Restaurant called Pomaire
that is located on W.46th. Can anyone give me
any insight as to whether this is worth a visit?

I don't think I was the one who posted the negative review, but I had a mediocre meal at Pomaire. Too bad. It's a nice space and the staff is friendly. There are many better options in the area, in my opinion.

The negative review was mine. I agree with Dave: There
are too many great restaurants within a five minute
walk of Restaurant Row to settle for anything less.

I recently tried a new Chilean restaurant on Carmine Street...I think it's called "Food of the Gods." I went in search of my Holy Grail...a lomito avocado sandwich...steamed pork and mashed avocado on a bun. Their version, which I think they made special beacuse I requested it, was made with a broiled pork cutlet. Not too good. But their menu, with lots of seafood, looked very intriguing. I plan to go back.

One of the early queries I posted to these boards
(months ago) was about Chilean barnacles. I wonder if
you noticed whether they were mentioned on the menu?
Or maybe you saw someone scooping something succulent
out of a huge barnacle? pat
