Italian in the 40's

Brenda Jul 23, 1998 03:15 PM

I am trying to think of the name of an Italian
restaurant around W. 45th. It is popular and upscale.
Need reservations. Can anyone help?

There are several good Italian places on Restaurant Row
and further west. The best of them may be Orso, on
W.46th. You need reservations well in advance.

I had pre-theater dinner at Novocello not long ago.
It was pretty good, with two exceptions: The risotto
(one of their daily specials) was pre-made and suffered
badly for it, and their service fell to pieces when we
tried to order to coffee and dessert. On a quiet
night, I expect I'd enjoy it, as long as I stick to the
        pasta specials.
