We went to Churrascuria Plataforma (?) last night on 49th between 8th and 9th. It was packed and it was only Monday! I heard it was packed all the time.
We started with Caipirhina's (?) , the traditional Brazilian sugar cane based drink. It was good but not as good as they make it at Circus on Lexington Ave.
The service was both super friendly and very good.
The all you can salad bar to start was huge! We tried a little of most things, I heard the sliced carpaccio was great but I held off for the main course. I did try
some of the salads and vegetables, etc. The real deal was all the waiters walking around carving meat at your table. There was everything from chicken
(thighs-my favorite) to lamb shank to pork loin to spare ribs to beef ribs to flank steak, I could go on and on. We finally had to turn over out little green circle
to red, which means (obviously) stop. The dessert looked wonderful!
The side dishes varied from excellent mashed potatoes to fried plantains to decent polenta, which I ate anyway, I love polenta!
It was quite an experience, I would definitely go back, though I might vary my selection.
Nice for a large party (there were alot of birthdays happening as well as a private dinner. In Jordan's words, my boyfriend, it was SICK!
