Today I sampled a Rosamunde burger, which I would have to say was the most satisfying burger I've had since the ones at Louie's Lunch (joint in New Haven, CT, that claims to have invented the Hamburg Sandwich -- but that's another story). Thick but not too thick, perfectly grilled, and those same grilled onions they serve with the sausages.

I asked why Tuesday. The guy said it's in honor of Wimpy, who would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Rosamunde makes you pay today for a hamburger today, but at $4 I'm okay without the float.

I asked if they would be expanding the hamburger schedule, and the guy seemed a little peeved. "If we did hamburgers every day I'd probably quit," he said, only half kidding. "We're a sausage grill."

I stopped asking for burgers every day months ago. Now I just ask that they increase their Tuesday buy - in case you haven't seen my numerous posts, they are now selling out by 5:30-6:00 pm, considering that they are open until 10pm, I think they could easily order another 50 burgers worth of meat. So far, my pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

Insider Tip: You can order your burger/sausage & tell them to knock when its ready. Then go to Toronado, get a beer and sit near the wall. In about 5-10 minutes, you'll hear a two hard bangs on the wall - your food is ready!! That way you don't have to waste any valuable eating/drinking time.

FYI - When I look at the business model of Rosamunde, I worry - his sausages are very high quality with a pretty low mark up. He also has a high quality selection of chips & sodas. Usually, in such a situation, the owner does a couple of "made from scratch" items that he can make some money on. But the only thing Jeff makes from scratch is his potato salad. From what I can tell, the only way he'll be able to stay in business is if he does a lot of volume and his rent is really low. (Since the building is owned by Toronado and Rosamunde's owner is a Toronado ex-bartender, I'm assuming the rent is decent.)
