nice vegetarian-ish restaurant in Rochester?

kahluagal Apr 13, 2001 06:46 PM

Hello all,

I'm looking for a nice restaurant to take a family - only 'problem' is, one of us is vegetarian. Does anyone know of a semi-fancy take-your-family-to-dinner type place? I know of Aladdin's but would like to find somewhere else for a change. I'm also open to all kinds - especially Chinese.

please email me back at kahluagal@cybergrrl.com

Thanks for your help!

India House Cafe, at Clinton & Goodman, has some of the best South Indian you can get. Try the amazing dosas. 100% vegetarian. I don't know if it's still there, but the same folks used to run a fancier Indian place across the street, just plain India House, which served a well-executed but pretty standard USA Indian restaurant menu, ie some heavy, creamy veggie stuff and a bunch of chicken, lamb and fish dishes.

I really like Slice of Life on South Avenue. I recommend calling for hours. Also, Golden Dynasty in Loehman's Plaza on S. Clinton has GREAT vegetarian dishes.
