We'll be in the Morristown area this weekend and are looking for a nice place to eat. Any suggestions? We're both vegetarian.

Thanks!

Moghul--It's an Indian restaurant and you will have a large choice of vegetarian dishes

Moghul is good but overpriced. I prefer to go to them for lunch but then if youre vegetarian you dont have much choice then since its a buffet.

If they are "lacto-ovo" vegetarians as opposed to vegan, I might even try Cinque Figlie and go for some of the pasta dishes, and just request them without meat -- the chef there is a really nice guy and I am sure he would accomodate. Pazzo Pazzo also has great pasta.

And if they simply anti-meat and can go for fish... I would point them toward Nagano for sushi.

If they are vegan they are pretty much screwed, even at moghul.

I second Cinque Figlie. It has great pasta and wonderful service. A excellent, romantic restaurant, it's one of my favorites. Warning, it's BYOB.

Lins Palace is a vegetarian Chinese place -- a storefront, definitely not fancy -- on Speedwell Avenue a couple of blocks off the Green. It's on the opposite side of the street from the Headquarters Plaza. Its signs brag of vegetarian dishes.

Your best bet, though, for vegetarian would probably be Cafe Metro in Denville (about 8 miles away). It offers vegetarian and organic foods -- and I think even some vegan choices -- in an large old house on Diamond Spring Road. Not as upscale (or as pricey) as Cinque Figlie or the other finer Morristown restaurants, but a nice restaurant specializing in "natural" foods.

Think dishes made with free-range chicken and organic sauces or "chocolate" mousse made with tofu and carob chips. Like I said, I'm pretty sure it offers some vegan dishes, but you can call the restaurant at (973) 625-1055 to check.

In short, I'd celebrate my anniversary at Cinque Figlie and take out-of-town vegetarian friends to Cafe Metro.

Well, Lin's is NOT a vegetarian place; but the menu features some vegetarian items. The lunch menu has a much larger selection of such items than does the dinner menu.

I work across the street at Headquarters Plaza and my husband and I ate at Lin's for dinner one night. It was perfectly acceptable - worth a return visit.

    2. If you do like Indian Food - the best would be Chand Palace which is strictly vegetarian and located right off Route 80 and Smith Road in Parsippany - not exactly Morristown - but in the area.

They do have the best in vegetarian and indian food. Call for info and directions as they have a fabulous buffet for lunch and dinner. We have been there many times and have always enjoyed it.

They have a website at www.chandpalace.com
Then check on the restaurant as they also have catering facilities too.

      1. The restaurant Cafe India on Washington Street is good. ALso, Sirin Thai on Pine (?) will do most of their dishes in vegetarian, including a soup and Pad Thai. Both are BYO.
