La Duchesse Anne- Catskill Region Still Around?

Some years ago my husband, a friend of ours, and I stumbled across La Duchesse Anne off the main road in the town of Mt. Tremper. It was dusty, caught in time, with two old French servers and Anne and her husband who served bar. The place was filled with photos of their "safari" visits to Africa. The food was authentically French and though in an out of the way place, the restaurant filled and re-filled well into the night. We had started at the bar and had not decided to stay for dinner until close to 7. By that time there was no space until 9. It was well worth the wait. I would like to go back but only if it has stayed that good! Does anyone know?

  1. The original building was washed away in a flood. The restaurant moved across the street to the Mt Tremper Inn and I believe that the ownership is the same though they have gone through a number of changes of chef. The crowds are long gone and I would evaluate the food as fair at best.

      Is that really true?

    2. We like to think so. We've received some pretty good reviews lately. If you're interested, please visit our website at: www.laduchesseanne.com
