Our wedding anniversary is coming up and my wife and I were thinking about booking a rez at Creeds in King of Prussia for this coming Tuesday. Yea or nay? Thanks in advance.

  1. Creeds is indeed a lovely place with great food choices that might satisfy your requirements. I do think it is a nice location with a very colonial kind of atmosphere but if you want romantic, well, it's not the car commercial says. They do have the best mussels appetizer I've ever eaten, I'll say that--and if you don't mind sharing garlic breath--go for it! It sure beats chain restaurants in all categories! happy anni!

    1. How old are you? That will help me answer your questions. If you say over 50, you'll probably like it. If you're in your 30's or 40's, I'd seriously advise against it. Go somewhere like Teresa's instead. This place feels dated and the steaks are better elsewhere.

      1. I would drive out to Gilmore's in West Chester if you want romantic.

        1. Haven't been to Gilmore's yet. My wife and I did go to Creeds (back then I was posting as "Ron") for our anniversary dinner and I was seriously disappointed by the whole experience. For the price of the steaks, they surely should have been better. Service was pretty bad. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes for them to even pour water, then a busboy came by and tried to give us someone else's salads. My wife was also not happy about her meal either. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Next year, we'll most probably head into Center City and go to the Capital Grille, or, if I've got $$$ to burn, Barclay Prime.

          1. The steak there is very good but as Rondo mentioned, service was a bit subpar. They were nice enough, but a bit inexperienced.

Are there any other good steakhouses around KoP and the western 'burbs besides the Ruth's Chris/Morton's mafia?

In my book, unfortunately not. I've eaten at Sullivan's also and, despite the recent semi-rave review by another poster, was not overly impressed with the quality or the service. It's a shame because, as much as I love Capital Grille and Barclay Prime, it would be nice to have something like that here in the 'burbs and avoid some of the city hassle.
