Which would you choose? Dinner tonight.

I have to choose one of these places to eat tonight. Based just on how good the food is (decor & service not that important) which would you recommend. Maybe list them in order of best (1) to worst(6) incase the people I'm eating with don't like the menu. Thanks alot.

Anjou
Bleu Martini
Bourbon Blue
Dolce
Glam
World Fusions

    1. Sounds like a list of restaurant.com destinations. I hear that Anjou is horrible and was under the impression that Glam is essentially a bar/nightclub. Are you limited to these choices?

            1. re: MBenzGT

I would choose not to eat at all.

                1. re: Saturninus

                  I was thinking that myself.

We ate at Anjou once a couple of years ago and it was pretty good -- never ate at any of the others.

My husband likes to try places once -- only if they're really really excellent do we return.

Well said. With all the quality options available in this city this line-up of choices is bizarre, at best.

                          "I HAVE TO"

                          Huh. Why?

Among the reasons I ask is i don't think I have ever come across this situation before.

I don't the question is any sillier than having to eat at one of a half-dozen restaurants on some certain date. Besides, you have already made what you have to do our business.

                          • re: Bluehensfan

Get a slice at soho on market. $2.
Better than eating an entree at a coke bar.

                            • While I don't have much knowledge of the others, you can get a pretty decent meal at Anjou. Their baby bok choy is good.

                                1. re: Hojo

i've been flamed before for saying that I like Anjou, but I am sticking to my guns (also, I have never been to the other places nor will I ever go to the other places mentioned). I've had a really unique and tasty udon noodle soup, spicy scallop sushi to die for, other fantastic sushi rolls, a bit of someone's steak cooked perfectly to medium rare with mashed potatoes. I like the atmosphere and bar(s).

                                  whatever you do, report back.

                                  • Bleu martini is more bar than restaurant, and I have heard horrible things about Bourbon Blue. Don't know about the other 3. good luck.

                                      1. re: Claire

I've had some decent (not great) meals at Bourbon Blue. Stick to the New Orleans specialties.

                                        • I WOULD HAVE TO suggest you stay home.

                                            1. Can you suggest Amada? Or even Buddakan? Much better (exponentially so for Amada) food in the same area.

                                                1. re: Anne

Amada and Buddakan are two great choices both of which I second, but apparently not part of this person's (unusual) requirements. Like I said must be a Restaurant.Com gift certificate. I wonder why they did not add Bluezette to the list of choices?

                                                  • I've had sushi and soup at Anjou twice, and thought it was fine. Out of the list, I'd give them the "1" spot.

Ate at Paradigm once, which I believe shares a kitchen with Dolce. The food was OK overall, but I doubt I'll go back.

World Fusion has pretty good margaritas...the very idea of eating at Bleu Martini or Glam seems strange. I've never seen anyone actually with food at any of these three places.

                                                      1. Thanks to those who helped. We ended up going to Anjou and just ate at the Sushi Bar downstairs. Ordered a bunch of sushi (unagi, spicy tuna, salmon, etc) and everyone agreed it was decent.

Unfortunately it was not my option to choose the place as I was just given the list by a friend who was taking us out to dinner. He did use a gift certificate so I assume that had something to do with it.

Thanks again for those who helped.
