My wife and I don't have a lot of time to ourselves (10 month old daughter) but we are finally getting a babysitter for Valentine's day and I would like to take her out for dinner near King of Prussia. We're going to catch a flick at the gigantic movie theatre as well. We are not wealthy people, but we do enjoy good food. Seafood is out (she's allergic) and we know about the 'mall' spots (Cheesecake Fact., Bahama, Champps, etc.). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

Would you consider driving a little? K of P is a black hole. The only thing I can think of that is even marginally passable there is Marrones, which is a very casual pasta place, or Creeds. If you are willing to drive -- I'd say Tratorria San Nicola in Berwyn, Teresa's in Wayne, or Margaret Kuo's, also in Wayne.

All good suggestions from Danielle -- and Teresa's is byob. Trattoria San Nicola is not but might be a bit more romantic atmosphere.

I would avoid San Nicola. Went there a few weeks ago for the 3rd time and was disappointed for a third time. Overcooked pasta, crowded dining room, uninspired and bland appeitzers.

If you're traveling to Berwyn, then I would recommend Meredith's; although many on this board said they've had spotty experiences there. I, on the other hand, have always been pleased with the food/service.

I highly recommend Teresa's in Wayne. But be forewarned, they don't take reservations.

merediths: just heard about and tried this place for the first time today! the service here was fabulous here! i ordered a lot of food - too much. yummy salsa and guac, i was impressed! (will definitely have to come back for that + margaritas out on the cute tables outside on the patio) equally wonderful tomato soup (twas a special; not on the regular menu). not that it matters, but i found it interesting... the place has an estrogen-dominated feel to it, cute young male servers hamming it up for the older women, rustic feminine decorations, and the lunch crowd was about 95% women. i'll definitely be back, and often.

I have never had dinner at Meredith's but I have had lunch 4 times in the past 3 weeks and it is a wonderful lunch. I imagine they will have a splendid V Day menu. As a matter of fact they are doing something special because they had flyers on the table the other week but I did not pay attention because I know I will not be going out for V Day. Try it and let us know how it was!
