Garden Fresh on the corner of 24th and Fairmount has excellent deli of all kinds, including hot foods to take out, veggies, breads, etc. Also, off of Fairmount, between 24th and 25th, Klein's Market has good whitefish salad and deli. It's a full service market, meat, groceries, etc. Maybe deli's like Abe's in the NOrtheast or Jacks would have better whitefish salad, but I've never had a problem with either Garden Fresh or Kleins. Everything they sell is fresh and good. I agree Abes in the NE is tough to beat but don't get the prepackaged whitefish salad in the cases.....Have them package it fresh. If you go there ablock towards Roosevelt Blvd and on the opposite side is a candy shop-Ostroffs that make the world famous Meltaways-dark chocolate lovers beware, you won't be able to stop!
