Here is what I would like as a consumer. When I click on a support Chow News link embedded in many recent posts, I would be VERY curious to see what I would be getting if I subscribed. As of now it is a black hole. Maybe a page view of this week's table of contents to really hit home what I would be missing by NOT subscribing (kinda like Salon premium service).
Any thoughts?

    I second the motion.

Maybe even offer the first issue as a freebee and if one likes it , they can continue. sounds good to me.

    2. This really belongs on the Site Talk board to be sure that the Big Dogs see it. The activity on the San Francisco board, and Chowhound in general, has exploded in recent weeks and they won't look for this kind of question here. Let's try to keep all the messages on this board chow-centric.

Melanie, I saw it, just been too busy to respond. We put stuff like this on Site Talk so that this regional board doesn't grudually explode into an off-topic free-for-all. It's overwhelmingly active, as-is, just with chow posts.

Any suggestions, questions, complaints about the site belong on that board.

We are definitely working to put sample issues in view somewhere. But first we have this week's editions to get out. People out there may not realize that we have a tiny, skeleton crew running the site, so it takes a while to make things happen...we're all 150% saturated with tasks as is.
