Anyone been here. I've heard food is good, decent social scene, but expect major league attitude from wait staff. Any comments?
I've been there a couple of times. I use that as a late night option because it stay open till the wee hours. food is simple and well crafted; good but not extraordinary. Haven't had much problems with attitude in my experience, but haven't been there recently either.
I ate there yesterday for lunch, and had very pleasant service. Also had tasty food--especially the fresh bread and the chocolate tart for dessert. I agree with Limster that the food is fairly simple and unpretentious..but generally well-cooked.
I, too, went in the wee small hours and ate at the bar. The bartender was great. Had a wonderful french frisee salad with poached egg and lardons. Someone next to me was having the pork chop and it looked good as well. All in all, certainly not fine dining, but a pleasant surprise in the food given the decor.
I've been there a bunch of times, most recently last week for the radicchio dinner, and have never found them to be other than friendly and professional. And the spaghetti is delicious.
Have been to Globe many times. Have always found the staff friendly, helpful and accommodating with ordering, splitting plates, etc. Have eaten inside, and at the table outside and alone at the bar. Nice wines by the glass, I think I still have the label they gave me from an Alsatian wine I enjoyed (and wanted to look for). I have been treated well when alone, with SO, and with teen daughter so maybe your friends are the type that look for trouble?
