Santa Fe Burrito (212 South 11th St.-near corner of 11th & Walnut) versus El Fuego (723 Walnut St)
---------------------------

El Fuego has a much nicer interior and is newer, however I think Santa Fe Burrito wins as their hot sauce rules! (and chips, and their prices) I had a burrito yesterday and I am still feeling it today which to mean signifies how deliciously lasting the meal was. Additionally, Santa Fe Burrito lets you order a "small size" which means that you don't have to kill yourself trying to finish a super-sized burrito. Sure there are other Mexican restaurants, but please limit this discussion to operations that do not have Waitstaff.

There is a great little burrito truck at 38th and Walnut called MexiCali. Special kudos go to the plantain burritto, but the more basic ones are also good. Small lunch size for small prices ($3.50). They also have a little sit down place on 40th street that I've heard isn't as good. Thank you.

I'd personally get a sloppy burrito from the 12th Street Cantina in the Reading Terminal Market any day.

Other burritos just don't taste as good since I've been bitten by the 12th Street bug.

Alas, what would I do after dark?

Nothing, I mean anywhere, compares to The Joint on Sixth and South. Classic Chowhound portions and quality. They're also nice guys.

I'm cheap and these run $7.00 and are worth every penny. Delicious, natural, well -made, the only drawback is they're too good to be equate to dumbed-down burritos;never had anything like them.

I do a combo of the veggie protein and spianch (with extra cilantro). I try to limit it to once a week -- goodluck.

There is simply no comparison to El Fuego or Santa Fe. what's more, it's that rare "fast food" that you'd rather have in the middle of a more expensive meal.

Other aficionados are out there -- back me up.

Santa Fe is also in Wynnewood in the Borders/Bed Bath Beyond shopping center. EXCELLENT, my favorite.
