It was not that busy - it was after all a Monday night at about 7pm. Our server though didn't really care about waiting on us. We ordered a salad to start which never showed up. When the server came by with our entrees, she was like "oh, you never got your salad?" She did not offer to do anything to fix the problem. She did not check on how our food was, nor offer us refills on our beers. We had to chase her down to get a second beer. When the time for the check came, we asked for it. She did not bring it. We asked again, and she said sure. Then she took another table's order and cleared another table, and then, when she got around to it, she brought us our check. We don't receive bad service often in Philly -- we've been rather lucky, but the service at Nodding Head was definitely lacking. Though while you wait they brought out muffins-i-would-strangle-kittens-for, thereby making me much more forgiving. Eggs benedict were pretty good but could've used some more hollandaise. They were small enough to give you room to try several. Mrs. Joypirate had just run the half-marathon so we plowed through two baskets. Served w/sweet butter. It may be the kitchen, but the waitstaff attitude is also WAY too casual (the "Maybe I'll get to it if I get a chance" thing). We spilled some soda, asked for help, and finally went and got napkins off the bar ourselves.
