Decent student-friendly restaurants within about 15 minutes or so of Villanova

Does anyone have any good recommendations for decent restaurants within a 15 or so miles radius of Villanova. Our daughter is a student there and we have yet to find a decent, not fancy, place to eat when we visit. Thanks for the input.

  1. There are several decent places in Conshohocken, not far from Villanova.
Take 320 from Rt 30 and Conshohocken is about 15 min.
Fayette Street Grille is nice (byob) It's on the main drag.
The Conshy Rib house is tasty.
I heard of a new place called the Gypsy Saloon but haven't tried it yet.
For Mexican, there is a very good one in Norristown.
The spelling is not correct but I'll try - Michocana Taqueria. It's on Main and Arch streets. Clean friendly, good food and very reasonable.
Just across the street from that is August Moon for Japanese. Good luck!

      1. Teresa's Cafe (BYOB) in Wayne has great Italian food. It's right off Lancaster Ave. I went their last weekend and had pasta with a goat cheese sauce - so delicious. Their Tiramisu is to die for! Another good Italian place is Fellini's in Ardmore (also BYOB). Next to Brownies, right on Lancaster. If it's crowded, as it often is, it's cramped quarters but the food is worth it. For bar food, The Grog in Bryn Mawr (also on Lancaster) is pretty good. Excellent wings! Right across from there is The Point - it's a cute coffee shop with a lot of history (Springsteen played there once!) with good, healthy lunches. They have good concerts there at night as well!

        1. Our favorite in the area is Khajuraho in Ardmore, for Indian food. For Southern Indian, try Main Line Jewel of India, also in Ardmore. For a good burger and casual dining, we like Yeats in Wynnewood. When the weather is good, Coyote Crossing in Conshohocken has an attractive outdoor setting for good (but not cheap) Mexican food.

          1. Try 2 great restaurants in Berwyn (about 15 minutes west of Villanova). They are both on the same street on Lancaster Avenue. San Nicola (Italian and much more atmospheric than Teresa's in Wayne and about the same price) and Main Street Cafe (American).

I would whole heartedly second the Main Street Cafe suggestion. But I would say skip San Nicola...for those prices, no way. The food was underwhelming and the service was spotty.
