On the way to the Wachovia Center Fri. night we're looking for an early dinner--the further in South Philly the better. I know there are some good new places in that vicinity. Any suggestions? Where on Passyunk is Trattoria Lucca?

Lucca is one of the finest new additions to South Philadelphia. Located on 1915 E. Passyunk Ave, it is a byob and they are open on Sundays..... you may want to call them for further directions and information

L'Angolo is on Porter, one block west of Broad. The drive to Wachovia from there would be very easy and short, probably just 2 minutes down Broad. Great food, but be sure to make a reservation. They open at 5 on Fridays. Scannicchio's is also right there (Broad at Porter). They are not quite as good as L'Angolo's in my opinion, but still pretty good and they open at 4:30, if you want more time for dinner. Both are BYO.

Another advantage of Criniti's is that you can leave your car there and subway it to the stadiums.
