The original post was from 2003. They must be hungry by now - or divorced!

Another option is Rosalena's Coffee House in South Philly-- very frilly, so I would only suggest for a bridal/baby shower type event, but the food and service was excellent. They have a private room upstairs.
I thought the Valley Green Inn suggestion was also a great one. Just had a friend get married there this weekend & heard excellent reviews.

I don't know what your budget is, but I loved being taken for a celebration to Tea at the Four Seasons.
        We all felt very elegant!

Here are two suggestions: Jacks Firehouse in the Fairmount section of Philly (I'm not sure if they do Saturday brunch, but he might open for a party)
The Valley Green Inn in Fairmount Park in Roxborough (I'm not sure of the food, but the setting is lovely).

my husband and i had our wedding lunch on a saturday afternoon at the white dog cafe. the food was great and they can accomodate close to 50 people in the porch area. they have a few different rooms of varying sizes, so it may be worth checking into... good luck!
