Can I just remark once again how good standard tap is? I went there again on Friday night, for the fourth or fifth time. Had the pork sandwich, which was really the standout for me this time--pulled pork, but not bbq. Also a sausage in phyllo roll thingy. I mean, it's ridiculously good bar food, in a smoky bar-like atmosphere, with motorhead blaring from the jukebox next to me all night. Also Chesterfield or Lager is $3 a pint (they do have many better beers on tap for more money, including the yards ESA and one other one on a hand-pulled system).

But everyone knows this already, I know. I just felt it needed repeating, is all.

If you haven't tried it yet, get the smelts. Nice morsels of fried fish bodies with just enough flavor of fish without being fishy. As with many of the other posts, I enjoyed their salads immensely as well.

There's a deft hand with seafood here now, even more than before, since they've acquired the talents of a former Striped Bass sous chef; the squid and smelts are even better than before, and some of the seafood entrees have been brillainat; was just there last Thursday, and every dish came out flawless.

And the beers, to the last one on tap, are spectacular every day. Troegs ESB from Harrisburg, on the hand pump, was a religious experience, it's that good. And any of the beers from Sly Fox from Phoenixville or Fancy Pants, from Reading, PA, are worth sampling; three hard-to-find brands that make some exceptional beer.
