If one were to have a choice which would it be?

                         Any opinions?

Since you book the table, you control the age of your dining companions at Studiokitchen.

Ducking, big time. ;^)

Both are very good. If I had to choose I would go with studio kitchen because Vetri will be around indefinitely and Studio Kitchen will stop serving when he finds restaurant space. The food at Vetri is excellent but Shola at studio kitchen is a true artist who designs meals with extraordinary flavor and food combinations. Plus at $50 per person for that meal it is true bargain.

I suppose this would depend entirely upon what experience you're going after. Studio Kitchen is a very laid back, informal yet intimate environment designed to celebrate artfully crafted food and great friends. The value is unbeatable for the quality of food you'll receive, and I found the overall experience lends itself wonderfully to large groups (that, after all, is what it's designed for). Vetri is much more of a formal, organized dining experience, and the bill will certainly reflect this. The food is again fantastic, but it's a wholly different experience. And I agree with Jo in that Studio Kitchen might eventually fade away.....

They are different experiences, I have dined at both places a couple of times. Very good food in both places but studiokitchen takes it to a higher level of detail.
There is of course a huge price difference but if you are looking for interesting food you probably have never had, go to studiokitchen. here is a good analogy..I had the best gnocchi with spinach and cheese at Vetri, flawless and tecnically perfect. At studiokitchen I had similarly tender gnocchi with confit of duck, sage brown butter, parmesan and a poached egg...outstanding. Vetri cooks truly excellent food but studiokitchen meals are like walking a culinary tightrope while juggling poached eggs. I say go to both and make up your mind.

Ditto everything else said.

I was just at Studiokitchen last night.

I would choose Vetri if I was going for romance with someone, Studiokitchen for a dinner party where you can host but actually do very little.
