8 of us ate last night at Studiokitchen and had an absolutely fabulous meal (we got together at the DDC dinner in North Wales) -- started with carrot soup with scallop tartare (scallop, seasoned with Meyer lemon, was fabulous) followed by the corn souffle that Rich previously described - and that was excellent as well - everybody-s favorite until the dessert came!

The main course was halibut with a fennel and apple chocroute - excellent - and the dessert was a banana bread pudding with tangerine buttermilk sorbet - absolutely wonderful. Everything was light and guilt-free in addition to being delicious!

After dessert Shola offered coffee or tea - several varieties - and some hard candies. We sat around talking with Shola after the meal about his life and his restaurant plans. I'd love to go back!

My husband and I were there with Beulah, and it was absolutely wonderful, as she so eloquently said. When I try to describe it to people it just never seems to do the experience or the food justice.

Another thank you to Chris Holst for his excellent wine selections.

Aside from the food being amazing, Shola is an absolute delight. It is so nice to see someone so very talented and skilled who is not the least bit pretentious, condescending or snobby. With his gifts, and the amount of accolades he receives, it is just lovely that he is such a nice person and so gracious and friendly.
