<content>Two things have opened up down the block from me lately, and I'd say both are welcome additions to the nabe.

1. Rx. Trying to combine the feel of a small BYO and a very upscale take out (and a cafe in the a.m.). I've only been for coffee and pastries in the morning, but this is clearly the best west of the river. The coffee is potable, but it's the pastries I'm really impressed with. Don't know who they're getting them from, but they're great. The dinner menu looks interesting, but maybe a little on the trendy side and a little high-priced for 45th and Spruce.

2. Mexicatessen Vera Cruz. Another of the fast-growing Variedades Veracruzanos empire on Spruce btwn 47+8. All those good mexican products you need and Tamales on the weekends!! They're good folks, too.
