Top-Split Hot Dog Rolls
Greetings
I'm looking for a local source (South Jersey, Delaware Valley or futher away if necessary) for top-split hot dog rolls - the kind used in New England and especially Maine for hot dogs and for lobster rolls.
Kinda hard to describe, but they are slit at the top to accept hotdogs and the sides have no crust, so that the inside and outside of the buns are both toastable.
Thanks

I am glad to see that I am not the only one looking for
"Top-Split Hot Dog Rolls". I live in Florida, and there are none to be had in any grocery store in the state.
Please let me know if you find any where you can purchase these great rolls???????
Thanks

Hey Karen--The only place I have found that will ship out of the area is an online Portugese Store -- go figure??? Anyway, it's a good price and they ship-----> that is if you are still looking for them :0):

Try a Pepperidge Farm/Entenmenns bakery outlet store, Holly; I'm fairly ceratin you can still get the Pepperidge FArm version in a well-stocked supermarket, like a Super Fresh/Shop Rite/Acme style supermarket.
If all else fails, ask Joe Wolf at Wolf's Market; he can source anything!›2 Replies-
re: Rich Pawlak
I did some research and found that Arnold makes a version called New England Style which are top split. Also, Rich is right Pepperidge Farm makes a top sliced roll also. I found this information at www.marketonestop.com.

re: Anna
Found 'em. With everyone's encouragement I actually checked the next time I was at my local supermarket (22nd and South). Looked in the Arnold's Bread section. They they were, though under the Freihofer's label - 12 packs of New England Style hot dog buns.
Gonna make me a genuine lobster roll or 12.
Thanks
