Chowhound Meet in Las Vegas - Lotus of Siam field trip!

Dave Feldman, the Lotus of Siam (and Las Vegas) booster has made this sound so irrestible that I've decided I have got to go to Vegas to eat.

Dave is setting up a get-together in Vegas Nov. 29-30 and if you are interested, see his post on the Southwest board and/or email him.

Let's help boost the Las Vegas economy!

I envy you. Look forward to reading copius notes on your outing to Lotus of Siam. I'll be taking notes for a future trip. Happy chowhounding!

I just checked the web, and you can fly National Airlines roundtrip SFO to LVN for $88 (leaving Thursday and returning Sunday).

Very tempting (especially since I have a good friend in Las Vegas I could bunk with).

Thanks for the flight tip, Ruth. I'm still figuring out which days I can be there.

In preparation for the Lotus of Siam festival, we should be honing our Thai palates on local fare to be able to appreciate the differences. Anyone up for Ruen Pair night?

Love to, but I'm off to Colorado Springs (a distinctly unchowish place, but I won't have time to eat anyway -- I'm taking an entire carryon of munchies!).

Can you guys wait until the beginning of November? I'm sure I'll be back from Colorado with a craving for spicy food or a cold requiring much hot soup (or most likely both).

I'm thinking this will be a series of training exercises with several different local Thai restaurants. (vbg)

If you want to organize the Ruen Pair outing in particular, you can pick the date.

Some hotel prices are outrageously good right now, too, especially on non-weekend days. I just booked 5 nights at the Orleans, not weekend, for $29 a night.
