I was at the Grand Palace for dim sum prior to watching the football games on TV, and at the end of the meal, I was told that the place would be closing (maybe next week?), and it sounded like they were moving because the owner of the building was selling it. Unfortunately, it was a Cool Hand Luke moment ("What we have heah... is a failyah... to communicate") so I'm not sure I got the details correct.

Please don't take this as any slight to the waitress - I admire the work ethic and fortitude of those who come here, work hard, AND learn a new language. I know given my lack of linguistic skill that if I were to move to China and work in a restaurant, it would lead to conversations like this among the clientelle.

"Hey, you want to go have lunch?"
"Sure, but we're NOT going to the Jade Garden - every time I go, I end up having to play charades with that white guy waiter."

If anybody else has any more info, please post.
