I know you're probably all fairly tired of shrimp & grits, which seemed to be on everyone's menu a few years back (led by Vidalia).

But the version I had for lunch yesterday at CF Folks was really, really fine -- I could actually tell what the shrimp tasted like! (which isn't often the case with shrimp dishes) -- and they were good. They serve it occasionally on Tuesdays, I think. Recommended.

I think that they do good ones for brunch at Colorado Kitchen as well. The grits are garlic cheese grits. Yum.

Good point. I'm one of CK's biggest fans, and I do like their shrimp & grits; but come to think of it, I've never been as wowed by them as I was by CF Folks's on Tuesday. Maybe it was just a good day, or it hit just the right spot . . . but for some reason these really stood out. That's not to diminish from Gillian Clark's shrimp -- I agree, they're mighty tasty, too.

You know I tried a shrimp dish there over the summer that really stood out too. It was grilled shrimp, grilled veggies, salad and a slice of bread. The shrimp had a flavor that I hadn't tasted in a long time - in a good way. I don't know if it was just the freshness or a certain type, but it reminded me of when my father used to bring home steamed shrimp when I was a kid.

I love Oohs and Ahhs grilled shrimp too, but it's more for the seasoning, peppers and texture than the actual flavor of the shrimp.

I wonder where he gets them.
