Just FYI people, on Boston Street, where Pastore's used to be (that was quick), arises Baltimore's newest Italian: Bruchetta.

Bruchetta is sort of a merger/joint venture of people from the Cafe Troia clan and the people who run Sapori D' Italia in Cockeysville (had a short but interesting discussion with them about the impact of Wegmans).

I only stopped in for take-out and had (what else?) the Italian cold cut sub and on a whim I got a meat arancine (Italian rice balls) as well.

Both were quite good. I really liked the bread (should have asked them where they got it); and the sandwich was balanced quite well. The arancine was delicious.

Will be stopping back to see how the other food fares.

Sapori gets their bread and rolls from Perridegrotta (sp?) on Central Ave. in Little Italy. That's great news that they now have a downtown location.

Next time you go I highly recommend the "il Parmacotto" sandwich, it's even better tha the ICC. Parma ham with fresh mozzarella, tomato, olive oil and optional peppers on one of those rolls right out of the basket. It's fantastic.
