Anyone been to Mezze?

Mezze Restaurant and Bar
3407 Lakeshore Ave

Anyone been? The name says "Syrian", or maybe "Lebanese" (but who's counting?)

  1. Shep - here's a first hand account rec'd by email from a shy chowhound who lives in the neighborhood.

    "Full bar (chimay was on the wine list) & they serve tastes; hard acoustics;
    tables are a little close; fixed price dinner with starter, entre, &
    dessert before 6:45 p.m. Lunch some days (?); brunch on Sunday (? on
    Saturday). Can be a "jumping place" but was quieter the last Sunday
    evening when Lar & I walked down for dinner. It's been reviewed in various
    Bay Area publications. Prices are reasonable for the food.
    Nice mediteranean-rim menu (mezze platter, salads, pasta); usually not
    an "attitude " place. Owner's been present most of the times I've been

      I tried it when it was realtively new and found little to rave about. Nothing awful, mind, but no WOWs either.

        Do you mean Mezze in Oakland (which we're discussing here) or Mezes in the Marina district in SF?

          Yes, I meant the one in the Marina. Thanks for catching my confusion!

            I've tended to think of you as a Marina-ite, but then you go and post on a Korean place in Cotati! Happy to have your opinion of Mezes anyway, have been meaning to try it, but now it's a lot lower on a long, long list.
