malaysian fermented soybeans?
Does anyone know where I can obtain malaysian fermented soybeans locally? And also if anyone can give me an idea of what it tastes like, that would be helpful too. Is it like natto at all?

No, but have you tried "fu yu", Chinese fermented bean curd? (Not stinky tofu). Fu yu is great, like vegetarian schmaltz, with satueed greens and garlic. Ton Kiang does it well.
