Speaking as a native Memphian, I don't know where that recipe for a peanut-butter burger could have possibly come from. Gross. Yes, Elvis had flown the "Lisa Marie" out to a favorite place in Colorado to experience a deep-fried-peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich on more than one highly-publicized occasion. As for the burger, though, Elvis's favorite was the "Palm Beach Burger" served at the Gridiron, a Memphis institution that once had several locations in town. About 15 years ago, I ate a Palm Beach Burger at the Gridiron on Elvis Presley Boulevard (I'm not sure if it still survives). It's akin to a Five Guys/Tune Inn-type burger in that it's not massive, but hand-packed and crusted on a classic diner flat grill. The gimmick to it is that it is smeared with classic pimento-and-cheese with some added pickle relish. That's it. Tasty. I hear rave reviews about Jackie's, but haven't been there and don't know if their Elvis burger is authentic, or whether it's another of those trendy (but yummy) mini-burgers on brioche buns.

I've never ever seen an Elvis Burger on any local menu. here's one recipe, don't know if it's definitive, be careful if you look at the nutrition numbers, might get you all shook up

Jackie's in Silver Spring has a "Mini Elvis Burger" as one of its regular appetizers -- 2 or 3 of them make a nice meal!
