What's for lunch?

Alexandra Eisler Sep 4, 2001 03:57 PM

Last summer I printed out a post Melanie wrote on Chinatown to use as a resource for quick, inexpensive lunches.

I must admit, I'm so smitten with the pho at Golden Star, I haven't made much progress through the list.

Here's a link:

I already have that tacked up on my cubicle (g).

There's no address for Goldern Star, though. Where is it?

One thing that deters me: I usually want a nice bowl of soup on a cold/wet day, which makes me disinclined to walk more than a couple of blocks (sort of defeats the purpose). I don't suppose anyone can tell me the best soup/noodle place nearest Sacramento and Davis (talk about a specific request!).

Here's a link to contact info for Golden Star. You may want to bookmark www.bigyellow.com. Very helpful for finding addresses and phone numbers for businesses.

As HKL says, it across the alley from Portsmouth Square. Basically at Empress of China's back door.

Golden Star is awesome! I especially like their grilled pork chop with a fried egg over rice. The imperial rolls are really good too. You have to get there early for lunch and you will probably need to share a table. They're located on the alley above Portsmouth Square if that helps.
