<content>Best bet for dim sum is China Garden, in Rosslyn in the old Gannett Bulding (tallest building there). On the mezzanine level, weekends only.

<content>The best bubble tea in the area is in Rockville. Ten Ren in the Wintergreen Plaza, a shopping strip off of 355.

I'm not sure where you can get Korean BBQ but a friend of mine goes to a Chinese restaurant called New Fortune (16515 S. Frederick Ave) in the Food Lion shopping center

<content>1. For Korean, try Sam Woo in Rockville (1054 Rockville Pike, just south of Wintergreen Plaza). I've linked their website below. I also like Woomi in Wheaton.

2. For dim sum, the closest good spots to Bethesda/Rockville are in Gaithersburg (New Fortune, on Rt 355 just north of I-370 in the Walnut Hill shopping center) and Wheaton (Good Fortune). A&amp;J Restaurant in Rockville has northern Chinese dim sum, which is different from the classic Cantonese dim sum you normally see (but go anyway, the food's great).

3. For bubble tea, try Ten Ren in Wintergreen Plaza. There's supposedly a kiosk in Montgomery Mall that sells bubble tea, but I keep forgetting to look for it.

If you're going to have an Asian food fetish, Rockville is one of the best places to nurture it!

Might as well also throw in Joe's Noodle House for good chinese also.</content>

<content>A&amp;J actually makes a pretty good bubble tea. They have limited flavors. Of the fruit options, the whole family (ages 5 to 46) prefers passion fruit. </content>

<content>Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try A&amp;J's bubble tea if I can ever manage to leave enough room!

Did Maria's Bakery relocate? I've forgotten where it is, or was, and haven't gotten a chance to try their bubble teas. FYI, i.Cream in Wintergreen has closed. Maybe the bubble tea at Ten Ren was better, but i.Cream did have good shaved ice.</content>

<content>As I passed through Kensington on Conn Ave. yesterday, I noticed a new-looking bakery which I believe was named Maria's, in a store which still has the old audio shop sign on top, just up from the hardware store on the West side of Conn. Could that be the Maria's you are asking about? It is clearly hispanic-oriented, offering cakes for, among other things, 15th birthdays (a major milestone for hispanic teen girls).</content>

<content>Wrong Maria. The one I'm referring to, which I think was just south of Congressional Plaza, was a Chinese bakery. I think it was in the same strip mall that used to house Ambrosia. I meant to look for it on my last trip to the area, but instead I was daydreaming about the salty squid at the nearby Joe's Noodle House.</content>

<content>Ten Ren in Rockville for bubble tea.

Maria's is still in Rockville, it's moved right across the road from the Whole Foods and is in the complex where all the construction/new apts are. I can NOT keep all the names of the shopping centers straight, I'm sorry. I know someone can fill in the blanks here.

Good Fortune in Wheaton for dim sum (the classic choice). My new favorite, however, is Oriental Manor in Ellicott City. A bit of haul for some, but totally worth it. The chef used to be at Hollywood East.

If you do go to Wheaton, there is a good chinese bakery near Marchone's. You can get to it from Georgia, or park behind it and walk up the back stairs, kind of in an alley. Don't know the name though. Good pork buns.

How ridiculous that I lived in the area my whole life and I don't know the names of any roads, shops or shopping centers. I stopped myself from giving directions in Wheaton as "behind where ReRun used to be."</content>
