Any appetizer, ginger salad, tea life salad, mohingar, any of the noodle dishes, tofu with sour mustard, pork with bitter melon, shweji. Ask for spicy -- you may need to be a little insistent. Do not go at peak hours, or when it has recently been reviewed in the Washingtonian or Washington Post.

The salads are all good (I second the ginger salad) and I like the sliced beef as well. Good thing Mandalay now has a liquor license!

My absolute favorite is the warm noodle dish with a red curry sauce. I ususally order it with tofu instead of chicken.

Gram fritter salad. More than the sum of its parts - better than gram fritters and salad separately.

All good suggestions so far but you MUST try one of the special chicken dishes on Thursdays or Sundays (and ask for it spicy). I'm especially partial to the Thursday chicken. Don't miss the ShweJi for dessert either.

Mango pork, green tea leaf salad, ginger salad. I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.

Mandalay is the best thing to happen to Silver Spring in years. I recommend the ginger salad and the noodle #9. The cream of wheat desert is awesome.
