Tom Sietsema gives them 3 stars but 3 out of 4 on-line reader reviews disliked the place. What has been your experience?

Ditto, but the article suggests changes in the kitchen since September. Its walking distance from my house so I'll give it another try. Right now I would pick Sette Osteria for Italian al fresco dining in Dupont Circle.

I was there in late December and had a less than spectacular meal. I got sick and though I cannot confirm, I suspect it was my fish which tasted a bit "off" to me as I was eating it.

I don't know anything about Etrusco, but you should never, ever, EVER bother with the online reader review in the Washington Post. 99% of them are from either shills or people with axes to grind. Also, unlike chowhound users (or Tom for that matter), they're completely anonymous, so you have no way of figuring out what a particular user's like and dislikes are, and whether they're similar to yours.
