We're still working on the final design. It will be different that the t-shirts that will be sold through the site in more than color alone. You'll want to own all of them. Let's remember that the purpose is to chip in to pay for the operation of the Chowhound site that we enjoy so much.

next time around, you ought to try using PayPal to collect the fee. It facilitates collecting money for this sort of thing immensly.

Anyone going to the picnic from Sacramento area? I would love some T-shirts (jingle bells, jingle bells) but am obligated to going to a baby shower for incoming second grand-daughter on that day. If anyone would be willing to pick up shirts for me, I'll prepay and nag you with eMail so you don't forget to get them. I'm jealous as I'm sure your food will be better than mine. All 3 of our sons were born in San Francisco, so it would have been a real trip down memory lane. Many thanks to the folks who are taking the time and energy to set this up. Save some energy for next year?

Since some people contribute to the "other California" board also, maybe you should post there. That way you'd get all us "valley folk" as well.

So it does: Hanes Beefy-Ts (I have one, so I know what size -- they run big).

Thanks! I was looking in the body of the announcement, and missed it on the order form.

Not only are these shirts the really "beefy" type, which seems appropriate given our passion for all things food but they also make great gift items. Now that it is for all practical purposes September, the Holidays are right around the corner. Surprise someone with something different this year and in the process, help support this great site which is both entertaining and de riguer. Everyone should be aware that each hound is permitted and encouraged to pick up multiple shirts should you wish. Thanks all and I look forward to seeing/meeting you at the picnic.

Whew. I'm so glad to see the deadline moved to 9/13. Now I don't have to make up some excuse and can look forward to the cheese tasting and the delishiousness at the picnic.

I thank Calvin Trillin for the reminder about chowhound.com. I might have missed this except for his New Yorker article.

Scared you there, didn't we? We still have some slots left for the picnic, as of today's mail. Be sure to reserve a t-shirt too and show your appreciation for Chowhound.

Thanks for your interest. Anyone can make a contribution and receive a t-shirt. The new deadline for receipt of payment is Thursday, Sept. 13. However, we have no facility for shipping, so you'd need to send someone to the park to pick it up for you on October 6.
