Some friends of mine own a bookstore in Glenwood, MD just south of 70 on 97. We go out to dinner occasionally, leaving from their store after they close for the evening. Any recommendations for that area? We've discovered some favorites in Columbia and down toward Olney, but there's plenty of local territory that might hold a hidden gem or two that we've not discovered. Please include some indication of location with your recommendations!

Thanks!

What kind of place are you looking for?
Just off Route 32 in "downtown" Sykesville is Baldwin's, which is consistently good.
Up Route 144 in Lisbon is the Country Kettle Cafe, a locals' place, which has country cooking and sometimes more ambitious specials. If you are willing to go to Olney, Ellicott City is closer and has numerous places.

I second the rec for Baldwin's Station. We live a mile away and treat it like our corner dive. Needless to say we are very lucky.
