Good Luck Dim Sum, Clement & 8th, SF

Limster Aug 25, 2001 06:18 PM

I was intrigued and amused when I saw Good Luck Dim Sum on San Francisco Magazine's top 50 because it totally stood out like a sore thumb. I took it more seriously when a good pal from Singapore who had lived here for a while swore by it for dirt cheap dim sum.

So I gave it a try today and it was good. If you factor in the price it was exceptional (I'll bet most folks will be comfortably full for under $4.50). The best thing is that you can get single dumplings, so you can do dim sum by yourself without having to eat 3 of the same thing.

A grateful nod to the food guys at SF magazine - I believe some of them lurk here.

I love Good Luck. It is probably the greatest dining bargain I have ever found. Excellent potstickers, chive dumplings and shrimp dumplings. Only downside is the line that always moves slowly.

I have been to Good Luck and also like their dim sum (and their prices).

Also good in the neighborhood is Kwong Shing (take-out counter) one block away on Clement bwtn 9th and 10th Ave. They make good chicken chow mein with thin noodles which isn't saturated with grease like other places.
