Avtars in Marin?

Jag Singh Jul 24, 2001 02:42 PM

Has anyone tried Avtars in Marin. I hear it's Indian-Mexican fusion? I met the owners nephew in London and he was telling me about, sounded interesting.

When I worked in Sausalito we used to go there quite often. I always enjoyed it. They make very flavorful dishes and the fusion tends to work more often than it misfires. The soups are good and anytime they have pumpkin anything, it is a good idea to order it.

They also make a really good burger at lunchtime.

The original is on Bridgeway up in the northern section of Sausalito, one block north of Molly Stone's. The one Melanie refers to is a spin-off, and I think is only open for lunch. I never got around to trying it, but I would suspect it is worth a visit.

Mike, thanks for catching that. I thought that was a pretty long haul for you to pick up lunch!
