Yes I know the food is bad but the views are supposed to be lovely + it wasn't my choice. So any suggestions on what to order that will be decent/edible?

If drinking soft drinks, beware - last time I was there, the waiter offered refills and don't say they charged for them. It added quite a bit to the bill - I think our drinks were almost as much as the lousy lunch we had.

I was there for drinks this evening (for the views!!!) and we were very surprised that they serve all their mixed drinks and spirits in wine glasses so that the Cosmopolitan that one of my friends ordered looked just like White Zinfandel; she even wanted the waiter to bring a sign that would read "This is not White Zinfandel". Similarly the bourbon that I ordered came in a wine glass. (The thing that was funny was that eventually a group of what can best be described as the Washington equivalent of the "Bridge and Tunnel Crowd" sitting next to us actually ordered White Zinfandel for their table...

I got dragged to Sequoia for dinner last month (I was less than thrilled...). Anyway, I got a tuna sandwich which was actually quite edible. Obviously it wasn't worth the price they charge, and it wasn't a culinary masterpiece (or even near it), but it was quite decent that evening. Also, their fries are tasty.

It just saddens me everytime I go there that a place with such great real estate and potential could be so less than adequate...

It was fine! I had such low expectations but the corn muffins (free in bred basket) were great, the calamari appetizer was good, though I admit that the mussels weren't super fresh and the duck dumplings were kinda greasy. The grilled tuna salad was likewise fine, salad with some tuna. In other words don't run there, but if one day food isn't your highest priority and you want to enjoy the view, Sequioa won't kill you.
