  1. I don't know where Top This Pizza is, but Cici's on Rockville Pike is $3.99 or $4.99 for all you can eat buffet.

What it sounds like you get you get.

Pizza hut quality pizza sitting under heat lamps. I took the kids one day and it was fine and cheap for them, but I personally would not go there.

I don't know if this is a chain or franchise, but certainly looks ands sounds like one.

It's a franchise. Built for filling the bellies of kids and college students the land over and no more. Much less tasty that Pizza Hut, and sitting under heat lamps for an indeterminate time. Search elsewhere.

Not to defend it, as the pizza is indeed horrid, but I've never been to CiCi's when the pizza sat for more than 30 seconds under the heat lamps.

Anytime near a mealtime, the dining room is packed. People are waiting for the pies to come out, and they are grabbed immediately. And on weekends, from open to close the place is packed.

I think the stuff is pretty awful, but as others have said, for under $5 the kids can stuff themselves on pizza and pasta. Lots of kids sports teams there straight from the fields.

I used to take the kid there, and I did like the fact that several of the pizzas had jalepenos on them, which sort of disguised the lack of flavor of the rest of the pie.

And don't forget the macaroni and cheese pizza! I personally can't resist the apple cinnamon pizza.

If you pass on the soda and just get tap water, there is hardly a cheaper place to fill up the kids. Unfortunately, it's just not healthy to take them there too often.

You have to watch the action at Cici's in order to figure out what's really going on. I used to pig out about once a month at the one across from Skyline (VA) before the doc said I should watch my cholesterol and thought it was perfect for exactly that - lots of mediocre pizza but not so bad that I wouldnt eat it.

What's under the heat lamps doesn't stay there very long, but unless you ask for something that isn't out but is in the oven, the flow is from the oven to some sort of storage under the serving counter. When they replenish the counter, it's from that under-the-counter storage space. You can ask for something that isn't out and if they don't have it, they'll make it as long as they have the ingredients, but most of the time you don't get anything fresh out of the oven.

I don't suppose that's any worse for freeshness than home-delivery pizza, but then I don't get pizza delivered.

It's par for the course, considering what you're paying. But I wouldn't go as far as visiting them w/ any regularity. Except for the comment on delivery pizza, everything else mikeR said is spot on.
