There is not a Romanian restaurant in the DC area that I have found. The above mentioned church does two picnics a year. One in the spring and one in the late summer. They always have mici, ciorba (perisiore si burta), sarmale and sometimes even Ursus. The best way to get on the mailing list is go to the church. I hear from friends for the most part. There are also occasional parties that the church puts on, but I miss a lot of those due to the fact I do not go to the church.
There is a Romamian Orthodox Church on Leesburg Pike (Route 7) in Falls Church across from Skyline Mall just west of Geo Mason Dr. They serve Romanian food on certain occasions in their basement. I live close by to it and occasionally go on sundays and ask when a food event is taking place. There is no other place that serves Romanian food to my knowledge. I had Bulgarian food at the Bulgarian church on 16th St. NW (entrance from a side street). Both these churches do not have bazaars like other churches and are publicity shy. You have to go there and ask when a meal is served.
