We are Maryland bound for a four day family celebration. Company will include a 12 year old(with a non-adventruesome palate) and my 80 year old in-laws. We are thinking of driving to Annapolis for the day and having lunch at Carrol's Creek. I can only access the dinner menu. Anyone have comments on the lunches. All adults involved love great seafood. The in-laws live in Napa and are quite spoiled by the cuisine there.

I agree, O'Leary's is definately the way to go if you want seafood in Annapolis. I would avoid Carol's Creek- overpriced, bland food.

from an annapolitan: skip carroll's creek; it is underwhelming and you can get the view just walking around town. not sure if o'leary's does lunch but if they do go for it. they're doing the best cooking in the city right now, and the place is a seafood gem not just for annapolis but for the whole DC-MD-VA region. i wonder has joe h. been there yet...? everything else is a step down, but there's a nice place on main street called aqua-terra and harry brown's is a nice spot.

Also consider a meal at Charleston in Baltimore and include their fried oyster and crab cake (non traditional yet I believe superior to the best Maryland) which are part of a tasting menu. This is considered the state of Maryland's best restaurant by many and probably, for several courses (these two come immediately to mind), equal to the FL which I have been to twice along with a half dozen other restaurants in Yountville and nearby.

The best Maryland seafood is not in Annapolis. For the best Maryland crab cake and excellent cream of crab soup along with lunch/dinner on the water give serious consideration to The Narrows which is off of Route 50 about 8 or 9 miles east of the Bay Bridge in Kent Narrows. Their home page is linked below.

Annapolis is a fantastic town to visit and live in. You will find very good food there including a very interesting steak house, Lewnes, on Carroll Creek. But I think much of the seafood overall is a step below elsewhere. The drive over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Kent Narrows is spectacular.

Also, don't discount St. Michael's (Maryland's Williamsburg for lack of a better description) about 30 miles beyond Kent Narrows. But this starts a whole new topic.

I like Carrol's Creek, but it's been a long time. It certainly has a great location. But O'Leary's would also be my top pick for seafood. You can't go wrong there.
