I'm visiting DC this weekend...interested in finding a comfy spot to view the LSU v Ole Miss game (Saturday, 2:30 pm, CBS). Can anyone out there suggest a sports bar? I'm staying downtown, but I guess I could go anywhere that's metro-accessible. Thanks in advance.

Very generic, but there's an ESPN Zone 12th and Penn.

Thanks,

The Grand Slam Sports Bar inside the Grand Hyatt Hotel (downstairs) at 10th & H Streets will definitely show that game.

Lucky Bar on Connecticut just south of Dupont is likely to show the game -- lots of TVs, but there might be some competition from satellite soccer games.

RFD [Regional Food and Drink] on 7th Street, just north of H, has about 5 games showing. Not the most spectacular TVs and decidedly mediocre bar food, but about 30 beers on tap and another 100 or so in bottle. So if you want to drink well while watching, this might be an option.

The Grand Slam in the Grand Hyatt is definitely a fail-safe option.

Capitol City Brewery directly across the street across from the Grand Slam is another low-TV high-beer environment. Although I'd recommend RFD beer over Capitol City.

Hungry Celeste -- assuming you're an LSU fan (since I've read some of your posts over on the New Orleans board) -- there's only one place for you to go: Mr. Day's in Arlington (it's on the metro -- Clarendon Station). Just a short ride from downtown.

The DC Chapter of the LSU Alumni club meets there to watch games. You'll be among friends! They will be there for the Ole Miss one.

Don't know if the food is any good -- but can't be any worse than the Grand Slam, ESPN or Lucky Bar!

Thanks, Bucky. Sounds like just the ticket. Yes, I'm an LSU fan. I'm headed over to Mr. Day's right now. Geaux tigers...
