I hope this is food and DC related enough. I'm wondering where people think the best place to buy Belgian beers in DC is. I'm thinking Chevy Chase Liquors beats almost everyone on selection, but is there anywhere else that might have slightly fewer beers but better prices?

I'm always a big fan of Calvert Woodley. Last time I bought Chimay there (about 6 months ago) its was quite cheap. something like $6.99 - $8.99 for the large bottles (they had all 3labels). Don't know about the other Belgian beer prices/selection. You might also want to check Rodman's.

Although I don't know that this is the case in at their locations in the District, the Whole Foods in Clarendon stocks at least ten different Belgian ales (Chimay, Corsendonk, Leffe, Lindemans, Orval etc.), with new varieties rotated in fairly frequently. Not to mention a nice selection of English ales, German and Czech lagers and American micros. They have a knowledgable "beer guy" on staff. Price is comparable to what other posters have mentioned.

Whole Foods in Vienna. Prices might not be a lower but you can get hard to find beers like, Westvleteren 12, 8, and blond. The Rochefort 10, 8, and 6 are also almost always in stock. The usual Chimay, Duvel, Orval are also avaiable. In DC proper Rodman's on Wisconsim Ave used to have a good selection at good prices but I have not been in years.
