Baghdad misses DC

Sitting around the pool at our Baghdad hotel last night, a bunch of former Washingtonians were lamenting the terrible cafeteria food we have to eat three times a day. In a probably ill-advised stint of nostalgia, we discussed for almost an hour the deliciousness of Washington, DC, and how much we desperately need doggy-bag care packages.

We miss farmers' markets, Ten Penh, Capital Grille, Yanyu, Spices, Sushi-Ko, the Tabard Inn, Luigi's, Bombay Club, the Reef, and the bar at the Mayflower.

We don't miss Lauriol Plaza (except the fajitas) or the Cheesecake Factory.

Eat out, eat well, and don't take it for granted!! You too may someday find yourself eating an obscene amount of rehydrated turkey!!
