Red Sox friendly restaurants/bars in DC

Hi there,

I wonder whether there's an area restaurant or bar that's a hangout for Red Sox fans. At a minimum I'd like to find someplace that at least shows all the Sox games, but if the place also affords an opportunity to gather with fellow fans, that would be an added bonus.

Thanks for any help,

Dan

Not sure if anyone is still interested, but Rhino Bar in Georgetown is also a Red Sox bar. Not the greatest place ever, but very typical sports bar food. I actually really enjoy their wings.

Agreed, Rhino Bar is definitely a Red Sox bar--it's on M Street. Good if you want the atmosphere. It's just regular bar food.

Adam's Corner, 2 blocks from Courthouse Metro, has $3 Harpoons and $2 Stuffed Quahogs during games. Every New England sports team.

Red Sox Nation still lives in 2011. A new location trying to have fun. I found a couple of cob webs along the way.

I was going to list Cleveland Park Bar and Grill, but then I saw the dates! Of course, back when this post was first started, CPBG was known as Bricks - but was still a BoSox bar.

There are several in Virginia: Springfield, Fairfax, Reston, and Dranesville are four that I know of. I don't know about the Germantown place but it's gotta be part of the chain.

After last night's game are you sure you want to watch any more??

I'd love to know the same thing--except for Steelers fans in Baltimore. (Yeah, I know, it's a dangerous thing to be....)

Definitely go to the Purple Goose for games if you're a Steelers fan. The entire bar is a sea of black and gold. They announce Steelers facts, trivia, etc. during commercials and hold raffles for Steelers related merchandise and tix. It gets quite crowded, but they have many TV's including a large big screen.

I have heard from another ex-New Englander that Glory Days in Fairfax shows the NESN Sox broadcasts.

This is sort of off topic, but I know Murphy's in Old Town is the Patriot's bar. If you like the Sox, good chance you like the Pats. Try heading down there one Sunday afternoon and ask around. Us former Bostonians tend to be loyal folk!

Summers, near the Courthouse metro on the orange line, will show any MLB Extra Innings game...not the best food, not the best beer selection, but pretty fan-friendly (also the best soccer bar in the USA, if you care)....
