Strossneider's Hardware (sp?) in Potomac now sells "The Big Green Egg" brand of lump charcoal that I've read is better than the "Cowboy" brand that you more often find around town. Not sure of prices.

In addition to lump charcoal, Strosnider's in Bethesda usually has hickory, mesquite and fruit wood chips for smoking--apple, peach. they may have hickory chunks, as well. They tend to have product there year round. Costco treats charcoal as a "seasonal" product and discontinues it soon after Labor Day. That reminds me. I gotta get down there and stock up. I barbecue year-round.
